Dog walks

Jake's Adventures Petcare began as a small business exclusively dog walking back in 2016.

I applied for a licence in 2017 for daycare and boarding as the business began to grow and opened my home to other clients to stay for their holidays. This meant I needed a second person to help with the walks while I provided daycare, so I met Dianne.

Since then Sam, Laura and Katie have joined the team, and our services have evolved to what we offer today.

All walks are provided between 9.30am and 3pm where the more popular group walks are split either side of mid day.

Walking services include collection for your home and drop off after the walk, so access to the property is essential. This can either be a key left in a key safe at the property or a key left with us for safe keeping.

Keys are allocated a number, so they do not have any identification on them, and kept in a locked key safe at HQ until they are needed.

Adventure Walks

ree

We carry out two Adventure walks a day with up to 4 clients. The first collections begin at 10.30 am and the second from 12.30 pm, this keeps the walks as close to mid-day as possible so dogs are not left alone in the house for extended periods of time.

Our service professional carries out the adventure walks out and about, making use of the multitude of public access paths in the local area.

Because we are out in public all dogs attending Adventure walks need to be recall trained and well socialised, although, long lines can be used to help with recall.

If the weather is particularly wet and muddy, walks may be cut a little short to allow time to wash down before dropping them home.

Play Dates

ree

Our Play dates are ideal for the smaller dogs, or dogs that are still working on their recall training. We have tall fences around the parameter to secure the play area and our professional is on hand to supervise play and engage with the dogs to get the enrichment they need.

All dogs are washed down where needed and dried to to the best of our ability before dropping off back at home.

Collections begin at 10.30 am and the last drop off is usually at 2.30 pm.

Solo Walks

Reserved for the unsocial, elderly or dogs in season.

Due to the popularity of the group walks, solo walks are carried out either before of after the Adventure walks. either from 9.30 am or 2.30 pm, Depending on the ability of the dogs this can be a walk from the doorstep or a little one-to-one adventure after a short drive. Prices vary.

Please be aware - Exact times for collections can not be determined as collection time depends on the location of all other commitments for the day.

We always try our best to leave dogs in their home as clean and dry as possible. But if the weather is particularly wet and muddy please provide a dry towel for an extra rub down when dropping off.

We can not guarantee all dogs will be perfectly clean and dry, but we will try out best.
